Last week we made a platform game. I actually learnt a lot about making platform games. Today I'm going to tell you three things that I learnt from making platform games, and how I could use it in my game.
One thing I learnt from the platform game, was how to set up the platforms. You have to go off of the stage and draw platforms for your little character to jump on. After that you change it into a movie clip, and then you have that done. It gets kind of fustrating but, I got through it.
Second thing I learnt from the platform game was making your characters land on the plantforms. It was kind of hard learning how to make sure the codes are right. But, we will probably end up using the platform coding for our game.
Third thing I learnt was going over the coding, and the coding for the Platform. It was a lot of coding for the platform game. If you didn't get the codes right, everything was messed up. It was not fun at all. I ended up getting everything right, so I was pretty happy about it. I'm glad I learnt how to make a platform game, because now my game will hopefully turn out a lot better!

Three things we have complete.
So far this year, Globaloria has been fun. I'm glad I have the partner that I have, because she works a lot. This class gets kind of hard sometimes, but we always have help. Today I'm going to blog about three things that we have gotten accomplished in our game so far. Mostly processing things for the game.
First thing we have gotten done is the scenes. We went ahead and did those so we wouldn't have to worry about it later on. Second thing is some of the coding. The coding is one of the hardest things in this class. That's one of the things that can take a lot of time when using it. Third thing would be getting sounds on the game. I kind of look forward to that.
Scenes was quite easy. I actually didn't have much trouble with scenes. It was interesting having to draw scenes about a fire. The more we have to get scenes done, the more we learn about our topic.
Coding is one of the hardest things to do in this class. You can easily mess something up in your game by putting the wrong code. It's hard trying to get the right codes, and putting them in the right place. If you put them in the wrong place, it'll mess mostly everything on this scene up.
Sounds should be fun. We are going to add a few songs that we listen to onto the game. We will also have sounds like sirens, water sounds, voices, etc. I do think we are making progress, and I hope that we do good!

Game Skeleton
Today I am blogging about our game skeleton. I'm going to talk about three things I've got done in the game skeleton and one thing that needs improvement! Three things my partner and I have done so far in the skeleton is we got it feeled out, we are putting actions on it at the moment, and we have the scenes for it. One thing that's taking a lot of concetration is the actions. We have to have action in our game skeleton, to make sure we have movement somewhere along there! Other than the whole action thing, everythings going pretty well! We're still getting some of the scenes done for it, and working on it to make sure everythings going to look good. We have been working on it for a bit now, and I think it'll turn out pretty good. I try working hard on things such as these. I feel as if Globaloria is a bit hard, but that's okay! It's also fun though. Making Games? Who wouldn't want to do that? It's also a good experience! I'm kind of glad it's not the math topic again this year...I'm pretty happy with the topic this year. So, this is what's been going on this past week. Working on the Game Skeleton and getting things done! I hope everyones having a good year so far!

Mini Game.
Today, we are blogging because we don't have school tomorrow. Today, I will be blogging about things about our mini game. The fun factor in our game will be that you can interact, move around, call 911, and put out fires. We've chosen to do our game on Mount Hope Fire. What you'll be learning from our game is some Mount Hope History, and how the fire started! You'll also learn how to escape the fire. The style of our game is going to be realistic, but cartoony. It should turn out pretty good. The originality of our game is that we'll be adding fire animation, and stuff to do with fire. I think my partner and I will have a good game once it's done. I'm glad to be participating in Globaloria this year.

Teamwork.
Today I'm writing about my partner, and what our game process has been so far. My partner is Allison, and she's really easy to get along with. She's one of my Bestfriends, so I guess that's why we get along so easily? Two things that I like about her are she works really hard on what needs to get done. Which is good, because we need to get everything and anything that we can done. I also like that she always knows what we should be doing. She always makes sure we are caught up, and makes sure that we have everything we need to have done. I don't think I can choose anything that I dislike, because there's not a thing that I don't like about having her as my partner. So, yeah. I can't pick anything.
Our game process has actually been okay. We got done with our paper prototype, and started practicing things in Flash. I think our game is going to turn out pretty good, I hope so anyways. I think we'll be really good at agreeing with things, because we're pretty close, and we don't have to fight over what to pick. Which is good. I'm glad she's my partner, so that it'll be easy for us to choose what we want in the game. Sometimes, it's hard to choose what you want in your game, and you have disagreements. I think it'll be easy for us to choose what we want in our game.
This has been our process so far in our game.

Non-quiz Games.
Today we went over how to not make our game a quiz game. We played two games. One was called A hobo's journey, and Help Larry eat tonight.A hobo's journey was a question game. Something it shouldn't have been. All it had was questions. It also was messed up. Some of the codes was not working, therefore, the pictures on that game went somewhere where that wasn't supposed to. Now, Help Larry eat tonight, was an interactive game. You could choose how you wanted to play, like Drag and Drop, Use your keyboard, and another one. Help Larry eat tonight, was about this man who had everything, and then lost his family, and everything else he had. He lived on the streets. In the game you have to get Larry across the sidewalk, or you'll lose. It will actually make kids want to play it, at least for me. I don't really like quiz games. What's the fun part in them? What do you learn from them? Yeah, it has things for you to learn, but it's not as fun as a interactive game would be. So, I'm going to make sure that my game isn't a quiz game, because I actually want people to play it, and like it. Hopefully, it all turns out well and people will learn things from our game. That would be great, because, I'm going to make sure I work super hard on my game this year. So, yeah. That's what this blog was about today. Thanks for reading. (:

Game Ideas up to this point.
My partner and I have so many games ideas up to this point. We are doing our game on electricity. Thomas Edison was the man who found out what electricity was. We are doing our game on that. It took us awhile to figure out what we was doing ours on. We was going to do it on the history of music. Screaming music, that is. Warped Tour to be exact. But, we couldn't. Thats why we picked to do electricity. I think this will be a easy topic. I also think we'll have a few difficulties, but who doesn't? It'll be a good and fun topic though. These are some game ideas we have so far.
